For half a century, as a private park, the Camp Meeting Association hosted many church groups, family gatherings and scout groups along the banks of Chocolate Bayou, but in recent years the park fell in disrepair and out of use.  With much thought...and desperately wanting to keep this park going, the Camp Meeting Association donated this land to the county in 2001...we couldn't have been more excited!!

Our goal was to bring this park backup to what it was and keep it that way.  Now its back and better than ever, this time as the ninth park in the Brazoria County Park's system.  We want everyone to have a chance to get back to nature and this is the perfect place to do it!!  It's also the only place you'll find native pine trees in Brazoria County.

Camp Mohawk County Park has many wonderful features, including 3 Group Dormitories with AC and heat along with all the accommodations for a great overnight stay.  These include:

  • Large in-ground swimming pool with bathhouse.
  • 2 separate covered pavilions on a concrete pad with picnic tables.
  • Bank fishing on Chocolate Bayou.
  • A concrete basketball court and baseball field.
  • Picnicking, kayaking, and canoeing areas.
  • Primitive tent camping with hiking and walking trails.
  • A brightly colored new playground area for the kids.

This could be the ideal place for your next family reunion, youth retreat, or church gathering.  Come Experience the excitement of the great outdoors day or night!!
